Setting Up Ubiquiti mFI Server
posted Dec 13, 2015, 11:17 AM by Eric Bucklin
So this is the 7th or 8th time I have done this; however since I do this in intervals I always have to google and lookup another persons blog which details the information perfectly.
As I find this posting a great rfesource I am going to post in my own blog and give proper credit to the originator of the information: Steveocee - mFI Server Instructions
This is his excerpted blog post, Thanks Steve.
Ubiquiti mFi server install on Ubuntu Server 14.04 and 14.04.1
So the installation method is slightly different now to what it used to be, it took me a day or so to figure it out but I got there in the end so am writing this for reference for others and for myself in the future also.
Assuming you have superuser privileges on your chosen Ubuntu Server;
nano /etc/apt/sources.list
I put this right at the bottom with a line space between it and the text above;
deb http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/mfi/distros/deb/ubuntu ubuntu ubiquiti
Ctrl+X, Y to save, Enter to choose default location
apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv C0A52C50 apt-get update apt-get install mongodb-server apt-get install mfi
Now you can navigate to your new mfi install by using;
https://[INSERT-IP]:6443
Follow the wizard through to complete install.
I’d love to take the credit for the whole thing but it isn’t all my doing, I only worked it after installing the source, original thread here; http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2235836
Much love and respect to the UBNT community here; http://community.ubnt.com/
