Google Apps Admin Certification Training and Thoughts

http://certification.googleapps.com/#/ I just became aware of this earlier this week, a certification course offered for administrators, deployment specialists, sales agents(more on this in a bit) etc. The best part it is a certification requiring 0.00 out-of-pocket. Yes, that's right, no money down, some time and perhaps some studying and you get to add another badge to your email signature and Linkedin. Yes, it is true sometimes IRL we get to level up...:)  So, it starts off easy enough, sign up for a free google apps trial (https://www.google.com/work/apps/business/), create a fake(and/or free for 30 days) domain using godaddy (godaddy.com) and for the next 30 days study... Well at least that is how it is supposed to work, in lieu of doing the first step I used a domain which I already owned and so ensued a loss of 20 hours of unadulterated Google fu. I am definitely not a web dev ninja. Basically it boils down to this, you want servers, workstation, desktops, laptops, a whole new network architecture I am your guy. With your new found confidence in my competence and excellence you decide now you want some basic web design eh, well now my INT and Charisma drop to Moose levels, sure I can setup hosting and do some pretty cool stuff with DNS(except apparently correctly add a txt record properly(which, by the way, dictates the need of an already setup website or in my scenario just dumping the files on my personal site which is a bit different than my apps trial domain, but hey, it worked...Yay)) And now for the discipline part, first day and a half I hovered around 3% completion. Yesterday, work was slow, so all ahead Flank...Tack on another 7% and now I am setting up users. By the end of the Day(EoD) I am at 10%. Today Saturday still at 10%, I have a pretty cool project which I will put a post up about shortly but; Discipline. So as a commitment to move forward I will work on this first...and I will update with my daily progress. Why you say?
